The Early Years
Pat McAfee was born on May 2, 1987, in Plum, Pennsylvania. He attended Plum High School where he played football, soccer, and basketball. He was a standout athlete in all three sports, but his true passion was football.
College Career
McAfee attended West Virginia University where he played football as a kicker and punter. He was known for his powerful leg and accuracy, setting multiple records during his time there. In addition to football, he was also a standout wrestler, winning the state championship in his weight class.
NFL Career
McAfee was drafted in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. He played for eight seasons with the team, setting multiple franchise records and earning Pro Bowl honors twice. He retired from the NFL in 2017 to pursue other ventures.
Post-NFL Ventures
After retiring from the NFL, McAfee began a successful career in broadcasting. He is currently a co-host on the popular sports talk show, “The Pat McAfee Show”, as well as a color commentator for college football games. In addition to broadcasting, McAfee has also pursued comedy and acting, appearing in several movies and television shows.
Charitable Work
McAfee is also heavily involved in charitable work. He founded the Pat McAfee Foundation in 2013, which provides scholarships to children of military families. Additionally, he has raised thousands of dollars for various charities through his stand-up comedy shows and other events.
Personal Life
McAfee is married to Samantha Ludy, whom he met while attending West Virginia University. They were married in 2019 and currently reside in Indianapolis. In his free time, McAfee enjoys golfing and spending time with friends and family.
