Entry into Politics
Rahul Gandhi entered politics in 2004 and won his first parliamentary seat from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. He has been re-elected from this constituency in every subsequent election. He was appointed as the General Secretary of the Indian National Congress party in 2007 and became the Vice President of the party in 2013. In 2017, he was elected as the President of the Indian National Congress party.
