Anmolpreet Singh: The Rising Star of Indian Cricket

Introduction

Anmolpreet Singh is a young and talented Indian cricketer who has been making headlines in the cricketing world lately. Born on March 28, 1998, in Patiala, Punjab, Anmolpreet started playing cricket at a very young age and soon became one of the most promising players in the country.

Early Life and Career

Anmolpreet’s passion for cricket started when he was just five years old. His father, who was a cricket coach, recognized his son’s talent and started training him from a very young age. Anmolpreet started playing cricket at the local level and soon made his way to the state team.

He made his debut for Punjab in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2016 and impressed everyone with his batting skills. He scored 245 runs in six matches at an average of 49.00 and a strike rate of 95.31. This performance earned him a place in the India U-19 team for the 2018 World Cup.

Domestic Career

After his impressive performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Anmolpreet was bought by the Mumbai Indians in the 2018 IPL auction. He did not get many opportunities to play in his debut season but was retained by the team for the next season.

In the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy season, Anmolpreet was one of the leading run-scorers for Punjab. He scored 753 runs in 8 matches at an average of 125.50, including a double century against Himachal Pradesh. His consistent performances earned him a call-up to the India A team.

India A Career

Anmolpreet made his debut for the India A team in a four-day match against New Zealand A in January 2020. He scored a century in the first innings and helped his team win the match. He was also part of the India A team that toured New Zealand in early 2020.

During the New Zealand tour, Anmolpreet scored a half-century in the first unofficial ODI and followed it up with a century in the second unofficial ODI. His performances in the series earned him a call-up to the Indian team for the ODI series against South Africa.

International Career

Anmolpreet made his international debut in the third ODI against South Africa in March 2020. He did not get a chance to bat in the match but impressed everyone with his fielding skills. He was also part of the Indian team for the ODI series against Zimbabwe in July 2021.

Although he did not get many opportunities to bat in the series, Anmolpreet showed his potential in the third ODI by scoring 23 runs off just 15 balls. He was also part of the Indian team for the T20I series against Sri Lanka in July 2021.

Playing Style

Anmolpreet is a top-order batsman who can bat at any position. He is known for his aggressive batting style and can score runs quickly. He is also a good fielder and can take some stunning catches.

Awards and Achievements

Although Anmolpreet is still in the early stages of his career, he has already achieved a lot. He was part of the India U-19 team that reached the final of the 2018 World Cup. He was also the leading run-scorer for Punjab in the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy season. His performances in the New Zealand tour earned him a call-up to the Indian team.
